Prominent Abortion Provider Killed in Church
A sad thing happened (and it is all over the news) yesterday when Tiller, a prominent provider of late term abortions, was gunned down in his church on Sunday.
See this interview with Tiller on FOXnews. This interview gives considerable support to the accusations brought against Tiller and justify his nickname “Tiller the baby killer.”
To be honest with you, I was surprised that Tiller was going (and was even an usher) to church. I expected a provider of late term abortions to be a secular humanist who doesn’t care much about church. Someone from the church (in a FOXnews clip) even said that he was a “good Christian man.” Now – this statement mystifies me even more. I do not think that someone who provides late term abortions, and hence kills innocent children, is a “good Christian man.”
In any case – the major pro-life groups have rightly condemned this murder, and this makes sense because they are PRO-LIFE. They stand on solid and consistent ground because they always defended life (from its very conception). Here is a statement from the CEO of Americans United fro Life (Dr. Charmaine Yoest):
“We condemn this lawless act of violence. The foundational right to life that our work is dedicated to extends to everyone. Whoever is responsible for this reprehensible violence must be brought to justice under the law…”.
Of course – the anti-life (aka – pro-choice) condemned the murder in very strong terms too. The following is a partial statement Nancy Keegan, the president of abortion-rights group NARAL Pro-Choice America:
“Dr. Tiller’s murder will send a chill down the spines of the brave and courageous providers and other professionals who are part of reproductive-health centers that serve women across this country…”
One must agree with the pro-life groups who see this killing as a “lawless act of violence” and a “cowardly act.” His killer should be brought to justice. He murdered, and (unfortunately) made a hero/martyr of a man who was a coward and killer himself. The baby killers are now called “brave and courageous” (what???).
Having said that – I do believe that pro-death groups (aka as pro-choice) have no moral ground to condemn this killing. Groups the routinely support the innocent killing of unborn babies have no right to condemn the killing of a man whose hands were full of blood.
After all, if you believe (like very many people in the USA, perhaps a majority) that abortion is the killing of a life, Randal Terry is correct when he says that “George Tiller was a mass murderer and … his hands were covered with blood.”
PRO-LIFE groups should condemn this killing. It goes against their raison d-etre.
Pro-abortion groups and providers have no moral ground to condemn this.
Chills should go down their spines when they abort an innocent life.
Not the chills of fear from a killer, but the chills of the gruesomeness of killing an innocent life.
